Reasons To Tint Your Office Windows

You probably haven’t given much thought to getting your office windows tinted before, but there are lots of great reasons to do this in your workplace.

If you are a boss, or a manager or in the HR department, you should not ignore the benefits that this can bring your workplace – whether it is a large multi-national, or a small business on the High Street.

It doesn’t really matter who you are or how big your organization is. When the sun shines, it brings the same things to all people and all offices suffer in the overwhelming glare of the summer sunshine.

And it is actually not just the summer sunshine which might render your office working environment uncomfortable. It can often also be the low sun of winter which causes the biggest headaches, literally, due to glare.

This can make even normal face to face contact difficult in your winter office. And that is before how it affects everything else.

But is there anything that can be done about this problem?

A lot of offices get around the problem of too much summer sun – or horizontal winter sun beams- by simply blocking out the sun completely.

Blinds are therefore very popular. These can eliminate the glare problem and also provide privacy. However, they are not much good for being able to see out.

And there are lots of reasons why you might not want to completely shut off the view from your windows.

For a start off, especially in the winter, there might not be a lot of daylight. So shutting it out for the entire day seems a bit extreme.

Yet this is unfortunately what you are doing with office blinds, no matter which type you pick – Venetian, vertical or roller.

Fortunately, there is another way of keeping the sun’s rays at bay, without completely blocking them out altogether.

That way is to use window tints.

A window tint is a film that is applied to the window, which blocks the UV rays, without completely shutting out all the sunlight.

As we have mentioned, the sun’s rays can make it extremely hard to see properly in winter, as well as being too hot in the summer.

If you are trying to work, in an office, the winter sun might be particularly incompatible with being able to view a screen properly.

And that can be a big problem for an office!

Work productivity can fall by up to 85% when there is excessive glare. Maintain your office’s output during the summer and the winter, by fitting a window tint.

The good news is, there are many window tinting companies operating in Edmonton, Canada, even during the winter months!

It is not only the glare that is the problem for your office, in the summer. Then, there is also the problem of the heat that the sun brings.

Once again, the traditional approach to this problem has been to shut all the sunlight out completely. But this is a bit like throwing the baby out with the bathwater!

With a darker tinted window film, you can not only significantly reduce the glare from the sun, but you can also block out its’ heat as well.

And just in case you were thinking that it is only the summer months when this comes in useful, then think again.

Because the darker the tint, the more energy savings you can make in the colder months as well. A dark window tint can act like another curtain around your window. Trapping the heat inside the room, and still allowing daylight in. Win-win, in other words!

This is the number one reason that businesses seek out window tinting on their premises. There are also plenty of others as well!

Five Cool Retro Trends For 2018

It seems like every year, some fashion from yesterday makes a comeback, slightly revamped and revitalized. So what retro trends will be making their way into your living room in 2018?

Not that long ago, having a wall cluttered with picture frames was seen as a bit passé.

With rampant minimalism running unchecked our homes for the last few years, walls have become desolate places, bereft of personality. For too long they have been just acres of white or beige colored space.

That could be set to change in 2018. This could be the year for friends and family to make a reappearance in our homes. Personal portraits and family snaps, all symmetrically placed in a neat order, on our walls, can once again hang freely!

It will make a nice change from all that white, we think!

Remember the seventies? Well, from a décor point of view no one could forget it, although perhaps they wish they could do.

What if some of it could be resurrected, albeit without the bad taste and acres of brown?

Avocado green is one shade that is set to make a comeback, paired up with gold. No, really, it doesn’t have to be that bad the second time around and there really are ways of doing it tastefully and subtly. Two words which were sadly lacking from the original version!

Turn your home into a zebra crossing you say? Well, not exactly – but the never-out-of-fashion combination of black and white, is set to make it back into fashion for 2018.

The beauty of this look is its’ timelessness and the ease with which you can recreate this design at home. Without having to spend a lot of money, you can bring black and white into your rooms, just at a flick of a paintbrush.

2018 could be the year for ‘going large’. So if you needed any excuse to splash the cash on that super-sized corner sofa, then now you’ve got it.

Four seaters, five seaters, six seaters. If you can physically get it in through the door, then it’s fair game.

And it’s not just the couches which are turning into giants. Your epic furniture could be represented by a large dining table or other center piece.

This doesn’t mean that you should still be trying to cram a lot of large pieces into a small room. But think carefully about which bigger item it is that you want at the heart of your living room.
